A brief history:
I’m a grunt. 11 Bravo. Went ‘in country’ in the summer of 1971. Short sprint with the 101st as they turned Alpha over to the Vietnamese. Back to the ‘world’? No, to Nha Trang with another group of the 101st as it turned everything over to the Vietnamese. Then to Evans with the 1st Cavalry. (Garry Owen!) They went home and it was on to the 17th Infantry (MACV) in Cam Rahn and the Central Highlands, the last infantry company out. Then, back to the world to finish my time at Ft. Hood and the glorious 7th Cavalry. Garry Owen!
I kept the intro light. But reality wasn’t. Most of the writing will be left unedited, posted as it was originally written. Better that way, coming from a 22 year old and his 18-22 year old brothers. Welcome home.
